Coton*

Cotton is a safe and reliable choice. A soft, healthy and breathable natural fibre that has always been used to create comfortable everyday clothing. It is a reassuring material that works just as well for active days as for moments of comfort, and adapts to all seasons.

At Le Slip Français, cotton is spun in producing countries, then woven, dyed and made in France, ensuring a local, durable and fully controlled production process.

Texture:
Depending on the finish, cotton can be light and airy like gauze, or more structured like poplin. Always pleasant to the touch, it offers a natural and warm feel.

Properties:

• Breathable: allows air to circulate
• Comfortable: suitable even for sensitive skin
• Absorbent: ideal in heat or during activity
• Durable: withstands repeated washing

Wool*

Wool is a noble and historic material used for centuries. It is an animal fibre that combines warmth, softness and natural technical performance. Contrary to common belief, it is easy to care for thanks to its self-cleaning properties.

Texture:
Soft, flexible and warm. Once worn, it wraps the body without feeling heavy.

Properties:

• Thermoregulating: keeps you warm in winter and breathable in milder weather
• Elastic: naturally returns to its shape
• Durable: long-lasting
• Easy care: often just airing is enough

Jersey*

Jersey is the go-to fabric for easy-to-wear clothing. This knitted, soft and slightly stretchy fabric follows the body without constraining it. We mainly use cotton jersey, ideal for t-shirts, underwear and everyday essentials.

Texture:
Smooth on the outside with fine vertical ribs, and looped on the inside, offering a fluid and comfortable drape.

Properties:

• Stretchy: adapts to the body without restricting it
• Breathable: perfect for daily wear
• Wrinkle-resistant: practical for busy routines
• Easy care: suitable for regular use

Synthetic fibres (polyamide, polyester, elastane)*

Used intelligently, synthetic fibres have their place in a modern wardrobe. They improve garment durability, enhance fit, and provide useful technical properties. Depending on their role, they may be used in small amounts or for performance-focused pieces.

Texture:
Generally smooth, sometimes more structured, and often highly elastic depending on the blend.

Properties:

• Durability: reinforce garment longevity
• Technical performance: water-repellent, quick-drying or waterproof properties
• Elasticity: improve comfort in fitted garments
• Structure: ensure clean lines and shape retention

This information is updated via Footbridge, a specialised platform that we carefully feed to offer full transparency. You can see exactly where, how and by whom your garment was made — and we believe that is essential.
